New Year’s Sharing
The world celebrated the ending of one cycle and the spiraling into another. On this first day of the New Year, I wanted to share some of my contemplations and intentions for this coming year together.
While the first of the year is a somewhat arbitrary day, as we are all undergoing various cycles and arcs that have differing beginnings and endings, there is something about feeling into the cycle of a calendar year. In one way, it’s a circle back to the same day: January 1st. And yet, more accurately, we spiral into this anniversary: meaning, most of us aren’t just back where we started a year ago. More likely, we’ve spiraled into more expansive understanding and greater compassion. More likely, we’ve spiraled into deeper relationship with ourselves, others, and our world. And today is an opportunity to articulate ways we want to attune and even align ourselves with our Heart, so as to nourish greater spirals of our evolution.
May we go forward into this year with courage and boldness, and yet also with discernment and care of our own well-being, as well as others.
May we continue to let go of limiting patterns of smallness, negativity, limitation, and self-judgement.
May we grow into our power, vision, community care, and intimacy with our divine essence.
May this year assist us in accessing more and more and deeper and deeper, the divine essence and wholeness within us.
May this year assist us in the process of installing this essence into our body-mind: the source of wisdom, compassion, creativity courage, kindness, clarity, and love.
May the lessons from this past year help spiral us into new and more refined iterations of our highest vision for ourselves- including generosity, peace, clarity, meaningfulness, and inspiration.
May our yoga practices assist us in the process of accessing our divine essence as well as integrating it in our thoughts, words, and actions.
May we know we are not alone in this loving and transformational work of honoring our inner guidance and inner knowing.
My wish is that the yoga studio be a place to nourish all of us, body, mind and spirit. My intention is to support the teachers and students both: to nourish a community of people who are doing this authentic, courageous, loving work, so as to further support us and fortify us all- in this community and beyond.
Have a very Happy New Year!
